Chonga, Shanga, Any Way You WANNA!!!

WHAT IS SHANGA????
A Diamond Brand Debunking

There has been some confusion surrounding what the "Chonga Lifestyle" is and how it is defined on the internet. Chonga, or Shanga, began as a cultural phrase used by some homies named Seth and Nick about five years ago. They lived in Oakland then, made art and were exposed to people who made hemp bracelets and psychedelic collages. Combining the aesthetics of 90's grunge deadheads and New Age crystal healers created the hair-wraps, denim, skateboards, volkwagens, poetry and musical harmonies we know today as shanga.

For as many years as I have known this term, there seems to be no proof of its existence on the internet. There are many MANY chonga things on the internet, but few of the internet portals are labeled as Chonga/Shanga. The spelling of this word is in dispute and is not to be confused with another cultural sub-category also called chonga

Above are images of people living the shanga lifestyle, wearing shanga clothing and utilizing prisms for maximum rainbow quality. They are the people and things that surround me here on the West coast, where Shanga culture is most prevelent. I have witnessed it in many places, here are a few:
